NextBill.com, Inc. Names Two to Key Product Development Posts

DALLAS (May 4, 2000) - NextBill.com, Inc., a pioneer in the development of the "direct" model of electronic bill presentment and payment solutions, announces the addition of two new staff members in key product development positions.

Stephen F. Wheeler, Ph.D., has been named the company's new Project Manager for Strategic Product Development. Dr. Wheeler will oversee long-term product strategy, design and implementation. He most recently served as a Project Manager for Decision Consultants, Inc., where he managed a data warehousing team, directed an e-commerce Customer Relationship Management (CRM) project, and researched Artificial Intelligence (AI) principles for data mining.

Jeff Rykiel is NextBill.com's new E-mail Specialist, responsible for the electronic delivery mechanisms used by the company's bill presentment system. Mr. Rykiel will be analyzing messaging systems and structures, focusing on compatibility with the bill delivery engine used by the NextBill system. He comes to NextBill.com from NBS, where he served as a senior systems engineer responsible for all messaging systems. He has a total of ten years of experience in the electronic messaging arena.

NextBill.com, Inc., a pioneer in the direct model of EBPP, whereby billers send billing statements directly to customers as e-mail attachments. Customers make payment by clicking on a "Pay Bill" hyperlink to an online payment screen at the biller's Web site, where payment options can be set. The payment is then processed via the Federal Reserve's Automated Clearinghouse system. The company spun off from its parent company, Brinkman Technologies, Inc. (BTI) in February 2000. In April 2000, Eagle Bancshares, Inc. (Nasdaq: EBSI) acquired 60% ownership in the company after its largest subsidiary, Tucker Federal Bank, successfully piloted the NextBill system.
