BRINKMAN DOUBLES OFFICE SPACE, ADDS NEW DATA CENTER
DALLAS (October 18, 1999)... Responding to increased interest in its Internet banking and electronic bill presentment and payment (EBPP) systems, Brinkman Technologies, Inc. (BTI) has doubled the size of its headquarters in Carrollton, Texas. The company has also added two new Web servers and built an entirely new data center. BTI will now be able to offer Web hosting of Internet banking and EBPP applications for its customers.
In late 1998, BTI unveiled an Internet banking product, PowerLine Internet, that enables a bank's customers to pay bills and process other financial transactions. In February of this year, BTI released the NextBill system, a turnkey EBPP system that uses e-mail as the mode of delivering bills and the Federal Reserve's ACH system for processing payments. With the increasing interest and demand in BTI's systems, and the expected boom in market demand for Internet-based banking and billing solutions, BTI has readied itself by acquiring neighboring office space and building the expanded data center. The new office space makes room for a new call center, allowing BTI to handle customer service calls for its banking industry clients. BTI's new data center gives banks and billing institutions the option of installing a BTI system in their own data center, or outsourcing those functions to BTI's service bureau. A third Web server has been purchased and installed offsite for disaster recovery purposes.
