DALLAS (May 13, 1999)... Brinkman Technologies, Inc., a leading edge developer of electronic banking and billing solutions, today announces a new trial program for businesses and financial institutions considering its NextBill Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment (EBPP) system. The program, named NextBill Now, is in response to the volume of inquiries interested in piloting the NextBill system.
To allow companies to adequately gauge customer acceptance of electronic billing and payments, NextBill Now offers a means to begin an EBPP offering with little up-front costs and no requirements for additional technology infrastructure. Rather than paying for a full installation of NextBill, the system is hosted on Brinkman Technologies' Web server during a six month trial period.
The only costs to participate in the NextBill Now program are a one-time set-up fee of $5,000, which includes start-up, bill design and a Web page logo for companies producing a single monthly bill (multiple monthly bills can be designed for an extra cost.) An ongoing EBPP fee of $0.25 per bill with a $500 per month minimum charge will be assessed during the trial period. If, after the trial period is over, the biller selects to purchase the software license and continue offering NextBill services, no further transaction fees will be assessed. Other continuation options are available as well, including buying the license with an agreement to continue the use of BTI's Web server as the host. Twenty percent of the transaction fees assessed during the NextBill Now period may be applied to the license fee at the time of purchase.
